Thanks to some suggestions from our wonderful customers, we'll be taking pre-orders starting this Monday (April 20) for pick-up at our Justice Brothers Farm Stand!
HOW IT WORKS: We’ll post a product availability list here and on our Facebook page as early as possible on Mondays. You will have until noon on Tuesday to place your pre-orders.
PLACE AN ORDER: Go to our Pre-Orders page (https://www.justicebrothersupick.com/preorders) and fill out the order form.
PICK-UP: You will receive an email on Friday confirming your order and pick-up time. While rare, product availability is subject to change from the time the order is placed, and we will be sure to communicate that in the confirmation email if that is the case.
PAYMENT: While we don't currently have an online payment option, we are happy to take advanced payment over the phone or cash, card or contactless payment at the table upon pickup.
We're excited to explore this pre-order option with our customers, and welcome any feedback on the process as we move forward.
We're thrilled to announce we will be offering a local, fresh produce stand starting 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. THIS SATURDAY AND SUNDAY (April 4-5).
The stand will be located at Justice Brothers Ranch (NOT the U-Pick), just west of Bullard Avenue on the south side of Peoria Avenue in Waddell. Look for the shade structure and white signs on the side of the road.
This weekend, we're offering multiple sizes of pre-bagged citrus and honey:
Navel oranges
Valencia oranges
Mandarins
Lemons
Red grapefruit
We're thankful for your patience, and hope to see you there!
A message from our farmer:
"These are uncertain and challenging times for many of us right now, and for some of us the future only holds even greater uncertainty and challenge.
While there's not much that myself and our ranch can currently do about the future, there are some things that we can and intend to do about the present.
Firstly, for those of us #StillFarming :
There are many small-scale farmers like myself that are struggling in the wake of restaurants grinding to a halt, markets closing, and our operations changing to do what we can and should to keep our communities safe.
If you know of any farmers who could use another venue to move their goods, our farm stand is open for business this Saturday into the foreseeable future, and once we work out some kinks and get off the ground all we need is a price list and a sales pitch and we'll find room at the table for you. We're not looking for a mark-up or percentages, we just want to do our part to keep our neighbors farming. Give us a call.
Secondly, if you know someone who may go without:
Many of us are currently working with food banks to do as much as we can to both avoid waste and help our communities. While we do our part and donate regularly, the food banks are handling a lot right now, and we want to meet our neighbors' needs right here where they are.
We're still working out the best way to do that, and while we've got some good ideas we're sure you do too. Please reach out to us if you've got a group or an organization that can benefit from what we are able to give.
In either case, give me a call at (602) 463-8469 or send me an email at rtsjjbr@gmail.com.
And from our ranch family to yours: stay safe, stay healthy, and stay strong."
As a proud member of our community, we think the best way for all of us at Justice Brothers Ranch & U-Pick to take care of our friends and neighbors is to close the u-pick for the season.
We're trying our best to get a retail operation going at our commercial orchard as quickly as possible, where pre-bagged fruit will be available to grab on the go.
We'll keep you folks updated as we go, both here, on the website, and in our newsletter.
Stay healthy and we'll see all of you soon!

Thanks to our friends at McKinley Madness for stopping by the U-Pick and making this great visit video!
***OPENING DAY CHANGED***
Due to the rainy weather, we are pushing back our opening day to SATURDAY, DEC. 14.
The rain is great for the trees, but the muddy roads and fields aren't good for our customers!
We're sorry for the inconvenience, but look forward to seeing you on Dec. 14!
The Justice Brothers U-Pick Pumpkin Patch starts on Saturday, Oct. 12, this year! See you there.
We’re thrilled to be in the 2019 Arizona Specialty Crop Guide from azgrown.org!
Selwyn Justice, operator at Justice Brothers U-Pick and Justice Brothers Ranch, is featured in the recent Arizona Republic/azcentral.com story on the disappearance of family farms in Maricopa County.
Selwyn discusses the balance of city development and agriculture, and the history of farming in the state.
From the article:
“Life is changing for the families who have long farmed this land. They have watched as more and more people moved in, making their hometowns more dense and more urban.
“The irony for farmers lies in the fact that their trade helped launch the metro-Phoenix area to its exponential growth.
“ ‘It was agriculture, and it usually is, that made this a viable place to live,’ Justice said. ‘In Arizona, it's either farming or mining that makes a town.’ “
